The Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the cultivation of Taiwanese American identity and participation in civics. Its mission is to improve the quality of life of Taiwanese Americans in the US.
Its programs serve to benefit all ages, but have emphasized on leadership and identity development programs for youth, encouraging involvement and development in areas that Asian Americans lack adequate representation. Signature programs include the Political Internship (SIP), Journalism Internship (JIP), Entertainment Internship (EI), High School Scholarship, Leadership Identity Development (LID) and Leading Youth Forward (LYF) Camps, and our affiliate for young professionals: Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP).
Towards that end, the Census 2010 unit was created to both encourage Taiwanese Americans to fill out the census form and to remind them to write in Taiwanese under the race and ethnicity categories so that our community can be counted and recognized.
TACL is an official partner with the Bureau of the Census to aid in distributing information and supporting the community with questions and problems they may have.
The TACL Census 2010 Headquarters is located in the Taiwan Center in Rosemead, California at:
